Why isn't astrology astronomically accurate?

Astrology is an ancient practice of understanding personalities and the belief that the positions of celestial bodies influences how your personality is interpreted. Astrology is a pseudoscience very loosely based on astronomy. In this post i'm going to investigate how accurate it is and give my suggestions on how they can improve.

While astronomy and astrology share some historical roots they differ greatly. For the actual dates and positions of the stars have shifted since its adoption. This leads to inaccuracies in the way astrology maps things. Another inaccuracy is how the sun passes over 12 constellations instead of 13 to match the lunar calendar. However some branches include this 13th as Ophiuchis. If astrology were really matched to the movements of celestial bodies than we would have 13 zodiac signs instead of 12 which are more matched to the seasons than anything else. Thanks to Earths precession and the inability for astrology to change or update itself it completely separates astrology from any astronomical legitimacy on top of its lackluster psychological legitimacy.

All in all if you are going to base a system off of the stars it should at least be accurate.
